Malaysia Digital Arrival Card (MDAC)

Every foreign traveller must complete the Malaysia Digital Arrival Card (MDAC) before arrival. Fill in one 5-minute form — we review it, submit to Immigration and email your confirmation.

Five minutes is all it takes

  1. Enter your details — A guided form walks you through passport, trip and accommodation. Searchable lists keep spellings and codes exactly as MDAC expects them.
  2. We review and submit — Our team checks every field against MDAC requirements, then submits your card to the Malaysian Immigration system.
  3. Confirmation by email — You receive the MDAC confirmation by email. Your reference number lets you check the status at any time.

MDAC questions, answered

How do I fill out the Malaysia Digital Arrival Card (MDAC) online?

The MDAC is completed online before you travel. Enter your passport details and trip info on our form in about five minutes; we check every field, submit it to Malaysian Immigration for you, and email you the confirmation. There is no app to install and nothing to fill in on arrival.

What is the step-by-step way to complete the MDAC?

Three steps: 1) choose your arrival date and travel mode, 2) enter your passport details, 3) add your accommodation and contact details, then submit. We review your entries and catch mistakes, so even first-timers can finish it online without rejections.

When exactly can I apply?

The MDAC can be submitted within three days of arrival, counting the arrival day itself, in Malaysian local time. Arriving on 10 March means you can apply from 8 March. Applications sent earlier than that are not accepted by the Immigration system.

Do Singapore citizens need an MDAC?

No. Citizens of Singapore are exempt. So are diplomatic and official passport holders, Malaysian Permanent Residents and Long Term-Pass holders, Brunei Darussalam GCI and Brunei Malaysia Frequent Traveller Facility holders, Thailand Border Pass holders and Indonesia Cross-Border Travel Document (PLB) holders.

Is it also required when entering by land or sea?

Yes. Unless you are on the exemption list, the MDAC is required for all modes of entry. Simply select air, land or sea in the form and enter your flight, vessel or vehicle details.

Are there passport validity rules?

Your passport must be valid for at least six months from your arrival date in Malaysia. If it is not, our form flags it while you are applying so you can renew in time.

I entered something incorrectly — can it be changed?

Before submission you can go back a step and edit anything. If you spot a mistake after submission, contact us with your reference number. Some fields cannot be amended under Immigration rules, in which case a new submission is needed.

Is the MDAC a visa?

No. The MDAC is a digital arrival declaration, not a visa or an entry permit. If your nationality requires a visa for Malaysia, you still need to obtain it separately.

Can I do this myself instead?

Yes — the MDAC is free on the official Malaysian Immigration website. Malaysia Digital Immigration is a paid service that takes the form-filling and submission off your hands and keeps the confirmation in one place.
